Bridget Kennedy was a phenomenal woman, and her story has earned its place in Australian history

KENNEDY matters to Australia, but its reach is wider than any national legend. It is an immigrant story rooted in the Irish diaspora, a sweeping love story about two people making a life in a new country under the hardest circumstances. At its centre is Bridget, who challenged the order around her and refused to disappear quietly.

What drew me to KENNEDY was the chance to revisit an iconic chapter of Australian history through a perspective audiences have rarely been given. Bridget lived with the devastating consequences, yet remained outside the familiar story. As producer and casting director, I am excited by the extraordinary roles and the calibre of actors bringing this overlooked history to the screen.
